Australian Fishing Enterprises uses its pilchard quota as a source of feed for our tuna farming operations.

The FV Maria Luisa and FV Sardinops are deployed to catch our pilchard quota when they return from the Great Australian Bight after the Southern Bluefin Tuna have been caught.

The Maria Luisa has the capability to either freeze and store its catch onboard or store it in refrigerated seawater.

Australian Fishing Enterprises supplies pilchards for tuna bait to a number of local customers and is always looking for interested parties wanting to purchase pilchards.
